Web development in brief

A modern website or web app has three layers: the front end that runs in the browser (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a framework such as React), the back end that runs on a server (Node.js, an API, authentication) and the database that stores data (MongoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL). A full-stack developer can build and deploy all three.

The tools change quickly, so we teach the fundamentals first and the current stack on top: semantic HTML, modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid, container queries), JavaScript and TypeScript, React with Next.js, Node.js with Express, Prisma and MongoDB, and deployment with Docker, GitHub Actions and Vercel or AWS. Performance, accessibility and technical SEO are part of the course, not an afterthought.

Why web development skills matter in Berlin and Germany

Berlin is Germany's startup capital, with many English-speaking engineering teams in e-commerce, mobility, fintech and AI, while the wider German market has a large industrial and enterprise sector. Many Berlin tech companies work in English, which makes the city accessible to international developers and analysts.

Who hires in Berlin

  • Startups and scale-ups

E-commerce, mobility, food delivery, fintech and AI companies, often working in English.
  • Enterprise and industry

German enterprises and industrial companies with digital and data units in Berlin.
  • Research

Universities and research institutes with data and AI groups.
  • Agencies and consultancies

Digital agencies building web platforms for German and European clients.

German and EU context you will work with

Generic courses use generic datasets, and interviewers notice. Our exercises include:

  • EUR pricing, 19% German VAT and European number formats (1.234,56 €)
  • GDPR (DSGVO) consent and data-minimisation practice
  • Accessibility in line with the European Accessibility Act
  • German and English text in NLP and UI exercises
  • Clock changes (CET/CEST) in time-series data

How to choose the right Web Development track

Your backgroundStart withWhy
Complete beginnerFront-end foundations, then JavaScriptYou see results in the browser from day one
Graphic / UI designerHTML, CSS, Tailwind, then ReactTurn your Figma work into production code
CS / IT graduateFull stack (MERN + Next.js)Most job listings ask for both React and an API
WordPress / PHP developerJavaScript, React and Node.jsMoves you to the stack most new projects use
Python developerFront end + ReactPair your Django/FastAPI back end with a modern UI

Common pairings: Web Development + Python (React front end on a Django/FastAPI back end), Web Development + DevOps (for deployment-heavy roles), and Web Development + Data Analytics (for building internal dashboards). Learn one course well before adding a second.

From course to first role: a realistic path

  1. Master the front-end foundations before moving on.

  2. Build and publish your projects, including the Berlin capstone.

  3. Apply for entry roles such as front-end developer (react) or full-stack developer (mern / next.js) with employers like the startups and scale-ups above.

Honest note: freshers usually start in junior or trainee roles, and salaries in Berlin vary too widely for a headline figure. Ask us which openings we are seeing.

Web Development certification: what we cover and what we issue

Web development has no single official certification, and employers hire mainly on portfolio and interview performance. Optional vendor certificates such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or the Meta Front-End Developer certificate are paid directly to those providers and are not part of our fee. SoftPro9 issues a course completion certificate, and you graduate with three deployed projects on GitHub.

What to check before choosing a Web Development institute in Berlin

  • A 2026 syllabus: look for GitHub Actions, Vercel, AWS, Figma, not only the basics.

  • Projects on your own accounts, a trainer you can meet first, and a published fee with nothing hidden.

  • No "global certification" or "100% placement" claims: vendors run their own exams, and nobody can promise a job.

How our Web Development classes work

  • Taught from Bangalore

Classes are taught live by the same trainers who teach our Bangalore classroom, streamed to Berlin in German time.
  • Live, with recordings and reviews

Live sessions in German time, recordings for revision, and project reviews from the trainer. Your own GitHub repositories, cloud dev environment and free-tier hosting for every project.
  • Interview preparation

Mock interviews, resume reviews and referrals to Berlin and remote openings we hear about. We do not guarantee a job.

Web Development training in Berlin: frequently asked questions

How much does Web Development training cost in Berlin?

The current training fee is listed on the Full Stack Web Development course page: /course/full-stack-developer-mern-stack-course. It covers live classes, the practice environment, projects and interview preparation. Any optional vendor certificate (AWS, Meta) is optional, not included, and paid directly to the exam provider.

Is this front end, back end or full stack?

Full stack. You can stop after the 12-week front-end track (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) or continue into Node.js, databases and deployment.

Which stack do you teach: MERN or Next.js?

Both. You learn React and Express on the MERN stack, then Next.js for server rendering and SEO, with MongoDB and PostgreSQL so you can work with either kind of database.

Do I need a powerful laptop?

No. Any laptop from the last five or six years with 8 GB RAM is enough; heavier work runs in a cloud dev environment.

Will I have a portfolio at the end?

Yes: three projects deployed to live URLs with source on your GitHub, which is what interviewers usually ask to see.

Is the course taught in German?

No. Classes are in English, which suits most Berlin tech teams. Exercises include some German text and formats.

Is there a classroom in Berlin?

No. Berlin learners join live online batches in German time, with recordings and a 15-learner cap.

When does the next batch start?

New Web Development batches start every Monday and Thursday. See the batch table on this page for the next dates and German time class slots.

Do you guarantee placement?

No. We provide interview preparation, resume help and referrals to openings we hear about in Berlin, but no institute can honestly guarantee a job.
