Python in brief

Python is a general-purpose programming language known for readable syntax and a very large standard library. The same language runs web back ends (Django, Flask, FastAPI), data and machine-learning work (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch), automation scripts, test frameworks and cloud tooling, which is why it is usually the first language employers ask about outside front-end roles.

We teach Python 3.13 and modern practice: virtual environments, type hints, pytest, Ruff for linting and pyproject-based packaging. Where older code you will meet at work still uses Python 2 habits or outdated libraries, we point out the difference.

Why Python skills matter in London

London is Europe's largest financial centre and one of its biggest technology hubs: banks and insurers in the City and Canary Wharf, fintech and startups around Shoreditch and King's Cross, and public-sector digital teams. Employers value clean, tested code, accessibility and a clear explanation of your work.

Who hires in London

  • Banking, insurance and fintech

The City and Canary Wharf host global banks, insurers and many fintechs.
  • Technology and startups

Shoreditch, King's Cross and the wider tech scene, including AI companies.
  • Public sector digital

Government digital services and the NHS, which follow strict accessibility and design standards.
  • Retail, media and consulting

Retailers, broadcasters and consultancies with large data and web teams.

UK context you will work with

Generic courses use generic datasets, and interviewers notice. Our exercises include:

  • GBP pricing and 20% VAT in invoice data
  • UK GDPR and consent practice in web and data exercises
  • Accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA, as UK public-sector sites require
  • UK date formats, postcodes and the April–April tax year
  • Clock changes (GMT/BST) in time-series data

How to choose the right Python track

Your backgroundStart withWhy
Complete beginner, any degreePython foundations, then the full courseReadable syntax makes it the gentlest first language
Manual testerPython + pytest + PlaywrightAutomation is the usual next step in testing careers
Excel / MIS / finance staffPython with pandas and openpyxlAutomate the reports you already build by hand
CS / IT graduateFull course with Django or FastAPIBack-end roles ask for frameworks, databases and Git
Planning a data careerPython, then Data Analytics or Data ScienceEvery data course here assumes Python basics

Common pairings: Python + Data Analytics (for reporting and analyst roles), Python + Data Science (for ML roles), and Python + Web Development (for full-stack roles with a Django or FastAPI back end). Learn one course well before adding a second.

From course to first role: a realistic path

  1. Master the python foundations before moving on.

  2. Build and publish your projects, including the London capstone.

  3. Apply for entry roles such as python developer or back-end developer (django / fastapi) with employers like the banking, insurance and fintech above.

Honest note: freshers usually start in junior or trainee roles, and salaries in London vary too widely for a headline figure. Ask us which openings we are seeing.

Python certification: what we cover and what we issue

There is no single official "Python certificate". The Python Institute (OpenEDG) runs the PCEP (entry) and PCAP (associate) exams, which are optional and paid directly to the Python Institute; our course covers their syllabus and includes practice questions. SoftPro9 issues a course completion certificate. For hiring, a GitHub profile with tested projects usually counts for more than any certificate.

What to check before choosing a Python institute in London

  • A 2026 syllabus: look for Pydantic, pandas, openpyxl, Playwright, not only the basics.

  • Projects on your own accounts, a trainer you can meet first, and a published fee with nothing hidden.

  • No "global certification" or "100% placement" claims: vendors run their own exams, and nobody can promise a job.

How our Python classes work

  • Taught from Bangalore

Classes are taught live by the same trainers who teach our Bangalore classroom, streamed to London in UK time.
  • Live, with recordings and reviews

Live sessions in UK time, recordings for revision, and project reviews from the trainer. Your own cloud Jupyter and VS Code workspace with every exercise, available 24/7.
  • Interview preparation

Mock interviews, resume reviews and referrals to London and remote openings we hear about. We do not guarantee a job.

Python training in London: frequently asked questions

How much does Python training cost in London?

The current training fee is listed on the Python Programming course page: /course/python-programming-course. It covers live classes, the practice environment, projects and interview preparation. Any Python Institute PCEP/PCAP exam is optional, not included, and paid directly to the exam provider.

Do I need a coding background to learn Python?

No. The first weeks assume no programming experience. You need basic computer skills and around 8–10 hours a week, including practice.

Which Python version do you teach?

Python 3.13 with current tools: venv/uv, pytest, Ruff and type hints. We also show the older patterns you may meet in legacy code.

Do you teach Django or Flask?

Both, plus FastAPI. You build one complete project in Django and an API in FastAPI; Flask is covered so you can read existing apps.

Is Python enough to get a job?

Python alone is a strong start but rarely the whole job description. Back-end roles also expect SQL, Git and a framework; data roles expect pandas and SQL. The course covers all of these so your projects show more than syntax.

Is there a classroom in London?

No. London learners join live online batches in UK time, with recordings and a 15-learner cap.

Is the course regulated or eligible for UK student finance?

No. It is a private professional course and not eligible for UK student finance.

When does the next batch start?

New Python batches start every Monday and Thursday. See the batch table on this page for the next dates and UK time class slots.

Do you guarantee placement?

No. We provide interview preparation, resume help and referrals to openings we hear about in London, but no institute can honestly guarantee a job.
