Data analytics in brief

Data analytics turns raw business data into answers people can act on: which products are slowing, where costs are leaking, how a campaign performed. Analysts pull data with SQL, clean and model it, build dashboards in Power BI or Tableau, and explain the findings to managers.

Almost every company has data and too few people who can read it, which is why analyst roles exist in every industry, not just tech. You do not need a coding background: the course starts with Excel and builds up to SQL, Power BI with DAX, Tableau and Python for automation.

Data science vs data analytics vs business analytics

The three fields share tools and are often confused in job titles. The simplest way to tell them apart is by the question each one answers.

Which should you choose? If you are new to data, start with Data Analytics: it is the foundation the other two build on. Choose Business Analytics if you enjoy the business side and want to influence decisions. Choose Data Science if you like programming and maths and want to build predictive models.

Why data analytics skills matter in Jeddah

Jeddah is Saudi Arabia's main Red Sea port and commercial city, the gateway for pilgrims travelling to Makkah and Madinah, and a hub for trading families, retail, logistics and food industries. Hospitality, Hajj and Umrah services and port logistics create steady demand for web platforms and analytics.

Who hires in Jeddah

  • Port, trading and logistics

Jeddah Islamic Port and the trading and distribution companies around it.
  • Hajj, Umrah and hospitality

Travel operators, hotels and service providers handling pilgrim traffic.
  • Retail and FMCG

Retail chains and food manufacturers headquartered in Jeddah.
  • Healthcare and education

Hospitals and universities building digital services.

Saudi context you will work with

Generic courses use generic datasets, and interviewers notice. Our exercises include:

  • SAR pricing and 15% Saudi VAT in invoice data
  • E-invoicing (Fatoora) concepts in sales datasets
  • Arabic-first, right-to-left (RTL) layouts and Arabic NLP
  • Hijri calendar and Hajj/Umrah seasonality in forecasting
  • Port and distribution data

How to choose the right Data Analytics track

Your backgroundStart withWhy
Commerce / BBA / MBA graduateFull courseBusiness sense plus SQL and Power BI is the analyst profile
MIS / Excel-heavy roleSQL, Power BI, then PythonMove from manual reports to automated dashboards
Engineering graduateFull course, Python earlyYour logic transfers; add business framing
Career returnerExcel and Power BI firstQuickest route to a portfolio you can show
Planning to move into MLData Analytics, then Data ScienceSQL and statistics are the base ML builds on

Common pairings: Data Analytics + Python (for automation-heavy analyst roles), Data Analytics + Data Science (to move into prediction), and Data Analytics + SAP FICO or MM (for ERP reporting roles). Learn one course well before adding a second.

From course to first role: a realistic path

  1. Master the excel and analytical thinking before moving on.

  2. Build and publish your projects, including the Jeddah capstone.

  3. Apply for entry roles such as data analyst or business / bi analyst with employers like the port, trading and logistics above.

Honest note: freshers usually start in junior or trainee roles, and salaries in Jeddah vary too widely for a headline figure. Ask us which openings we are seeing.

Data Analytics certification: what we cover and what we issue

The most recognised analyst exams are Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) and Tableau Certified Data Analyst. Both are optional and paid directly to Microsoft or Tableau, not part of our fee; our Power BI and Tableau modules cover their skills outlines and include practice questions. SoftPro9 issues a course completion certificate.

What to check before choosing a Data Analytics institute in Jeddah

  • A 2026 syllabus: look for Seaborn, Jupyter, Looker Studio, Google Analytics 4, not only the basics.

  • Projects on your own accounts, a trainer you can meet first, and a published fee with nothing hidden.

  • No "global certification" or "100% placement" claims: vendors run their own exams, and nobody can promise a job.

How our Data Analytics classes work

  • Taught from Bangalore

Classes are taught live by the same trainers who teach our Bangalore classroom, streamed to Jeddah in AST (Saudi).
  • Live, with recordings and reviews

Live sessions in AST (Saudi), recordings for revision, and project reviews from the trainer. Power BI, Tableau Public, a cloud SQL database and practice datasets, available 24/7.
  • Interview preparation

Mock interviews, resume reviews and referrals to Jeddah and remote openings we hear about. We do not guarantee a job.

Data Analytics training in Jeddah: frequently asked questions

How much does Data Analytics training cost in Jeddah?

The current training fee is listed on the Data Analytics with Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau & Python course page: /course/data-analytics-course. It covers live classes, the practice environment, projects and interview preparation. Any Microsoft PL-300 or Tableau exam is optional, not included, and paid directly to the exam provider.

Do I need coding for data analytics?

No. You start with Excel, then learn SQL, which reads close to English. Python comes last and is used for automation, not complex programming.

Power BI or Tableau: which should I learn?

We teach both. Power BI is more common in companies that run on Microsoft 365; Tableau appears in many consulting and product teams. Knowing both widens your options.

Is the PL-300 exam fee included?

No. The Microsoft PL-300 exam is optional and paid directly to Microsoft. Our course prepares you for it.

What kind of jobs can I apply for?

Data analyst, BI analyst, Power BI developer, MIS analyst and reporting roles. Freshers usually start in reporting or operations analytics and move up with experience.

Is there a classroom in Jeddah?

No. Jeddah learners join live online batches in Saudi time, with recordings and a 15-learner cap.

Can I pause during Hajj season if work is busy?

Yes. Tell us in advance and we will move you to a later batch for the remaining modules.

When does the next batch start?

New Data Analytics batches start every Monday and Thursday. See the batch table on this page for the next dates and AST (Saudi) class slots.

Do you guarantee placement?

No. We provide interview preparation, resume help and referrals to openings we hear about in Jeddah, but no institute can honestly guarantee a job.
